1. WHAT IS THE TRINITY?
Our God is One manifested in three Persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit being co-equal.
Philippians 2:6 say of Jesus, Who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with
God. God the Father is greater than all, the source of the Word, and the beginner. John 14:28 says, You
have heard Me say to you, "1 am going to the Father, "for My Father is greater than I The Holy Spirit
proceeds forth from the Father. (See John 1:14, 14:26, and 16:28.) One of the clearest pictures of the
Trinity is presented at the baptism of Jesus in Matthew 3:13-17. The Holy Spirit descended like a dove
lighting on Jesus and the Father spoke from heaven, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased
2. CAN YOU HELP ME UNDERSTAND PREDESTINATION?
The idea that God selects some people to be redeemed and others to be damned is in direct conflict with
John 3:16-17, 2 Peter 3:9, Ezekiel 18:23, and Ezekiel 33:11. The opportunity for salvation is extended to
all. It is not God's will that any perish, but that all should come to repentance. It would be contrary to God's
very nature to randomly select some for blessing and some for damnation; God has predestined that those
who love Him are to be conformed to the image of His Son. Every person who will receive Jesus as Savior
has the promise and the hope that they will be made like Jesus. (See Romans 8:28-29 and I John 3:2)
3. HAS GOD TRULY FORGIVEN MY PAST SIN?
When God forgives our sin, He does not hold it against us nor does He even remember it ever again. (See
Isaiah 43:25.) The enemy likes to remind us of past sins to bring us into condemnation because he knows
condemnation will rob us of our joy, victory and peace. First John 1:9 says, If we confess our sins, He is
faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We have the
responsibility to forgive ourselves and to refuse to dwell on the failures of the past. When the enemy tries
to bring guilt and condemnation, remember Romans 8:1 says, There is there fore no condemnation to
those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit
4. DO I NEED TO MAKE RESTITUTION FOR MY PAST SINS SINCE BECOMING A CHRISTIAN?
When a person becomes a Christian and knows that he has wronged others in the past, he should seek
the Lord to find out what the Lord would have him do in making restitution, apologizing for inflicted wrongs,
or mending broken relationships. In some cases there will be nothing a person can do. Perhaps something
has occurred so long ago that the believer cannot remember who was wronged or what was taken from
another. Therefore, it is necessary to allow the Lord to show you what should be done in each instance.
5. DO YOU BELIEVE THAT ONCE A PERSON IS SAVED, HE OR SHE IS ALWAYS SAVED?
There are too many accounts recorded in Scripture of people who once walked with God and turned their
backs on Him to believe that once a person is saved he or she is always saved. The Bible clearly shows
that falling away from the relationship with God is possible, Believers can be secure in their relationship
with Jesus. However, when a person is determined to rebel against God he or she chooses to go to hell,
(See Hebrews 6:1-6, I Tim. 4:16, 2 Peter 1:1-10.)
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
6. IF A BELIEVER SINS, IS HE A BACKSLIDER?
There is no believer who does not miss it from time to time, And in those instances he has been given
I John 1:9. But, the one who has knowledge of the truth and deliberately chooses to live in a lifestyle of
repeated sin, knowing that it is contrary to God's Word, incurs the danger of searing their own conscience
and falling from grace. However, as long as a person is endeavoring to live a life pleasing to God and is
asking for forgiveness when they sin, they are maintaining fellowship with God. Those who are in danger
of backsliding are those who sin willfully with no sense of remorse and no attitude of repentance for their
deeds.
7. IS IT NECESSARY TO BE BAPTIZED IN WATER IN ORDER TO BE SAVED?
A person does not have to be baptized in water to be saved; otherwise the thief crucified beside Jesus
would have been eternally lost. Jesus said to him, Today you will be with me in paradise. Water baptism is
an action that demonstrates that our old nature has been buried with Jesus, and our inward man is now
raised with Him to newness of life. Because it is one of the first commands Jesus gives to new believers,
every Christian should have a desire to obey God and be water baptized. (See Matthew 23:39-43 and
28:19
8. IS IT NECESSARY TO SPEAK IN TONGUES TO BE SAVED?
There is one prerequisite for salvation. Romans 10:9-10 gives explicit instructions on how to be saved.
When a person believes in his heart and confesses with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and Savior, he is
saved and the Holy Spirit indwells him. It is not necessary to speak in tongues to be saved. However, it is a
privilege and blessing when a believer receives the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and has a personal prayer
language to communicate with his Heavenly Father.
9. WHAT IS BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT?
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is clearly defined in Mark 3:22-30. It is attributing the works of the Holy
Spirit to the devil with a full understanding of what is being said.
10. HAVE I COMMITTED THE UNPARDONABLE SIN?
This is one of Satan's biggest lies to believers. Very few Christians ever reach the point where they are
even capable of committing this sin unto death. (see I John 5: 16.) If a person is concerned about having
committed this sin, it is a sure sign they have not. Those who have committed the unpardonable sin have
no more desire for spiritual things.
11. CAN THE DEVIL READ MY MIND?
The devil can know a believer's thoughts only if that person is thinking thoughts that Satan has planted in
their mind. Remember that his knowledge is very limited. Satan only knows in part, but God is omnipotent
(all powerful) and omniscient (all knowing).
12. IS IT POSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE TO PUT A CURSE ON A BELIEVER?
It is impossible for anyone to place a curse upon a believer who knows his authority in Christ Jesus and is
standing firmly upon the promises of God's Word. In Luke 10: 1 0 Jesus said, Behold I give you authority
to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any
means hurt you. As Christians, we have been given authority over the devil and all of his efforts to
overcome us. The believer can claim and expect God's protection that he has been promised in the Word.
(See Psalm 91 and Isaiah 54:17)
13. SHOULD A CHRISTIAN MARRY AN UNBELIEVER?
The only real guidelines given to a believer in Scripture concerning marriage is that he or she must be
equally yoked together with another believer. Second Corinthians 6:14-16 explains that a believer is part
of the body of Christ and Christ does not have fellowship with Satan. When two people are joined in an
intense relationship, one with the nature of God and one with the nature of the devil, they cannot possibly
share the same intents and purposes.
14. WHY DOESN'T GOD SPEAK TO ME IN AN AUDIBLE VOICE?
Only on rare occasions will God speak to His people audibly. The primary way God leads His people is by
an inward witness. The Bible says, For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God
... The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God (See Romans 8:14-16.)
15. WILL FASTING HELP ME GET THE ANSWERS TO MY PRAYERS?
No amount of fasting will change God to move on your behalf because He has given His Word and will
always be faithful to honor it. Fasting does not change God; it changes us by moving us into a position to
hear from Him more clearly. Because we are not given spiritual instructions in the Bible about how to fast
or how long to fast, each individual should be led by the Holy Spirit and make his own decision regarding
fasting.
16. HOW DO I PRAY FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S NEEDS?
We cannot receive for someone else using our faith because a person's will, desire and spiritual condition
is involved. Therefore, we pray for others using the prayer of intercession, (See Romans 8:26-27 and
Ephesians 6:18.) The prayer of intercession is ongoing, repeated prayer for another person because
strongholds placed over that person's life by Satan must many times be broken down before they can
receive from God.
