BECAUSE
Psalms 116:1-2
1 I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.
2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

There never has to be a because to love the Lord. We love Him just because He is Jesus. But then
that is a because. So there will always be a because for loving the Lord. The main reason is just
because He is Jesus. And because He is Jesus there will be more because than we can number. So
here is one of those many because.
Because He hath heard my voice. One of the meanings of the word voice that could be used here is
sound. Thus we could say I love the Lord because He hath heard my sound. He hath heard my
brokenness. He hath heard the contrition of my heart. He hath heard my love for him. He hath heard
my need for him. Yet here it can surely be said He hath heard my desperate need for him. The
desperation that only he can respond to. The sound that only He can sustain. He hath heard the
sound of the wind and the dirt of His creation calling out to his creator. When the Lord hears your
sound He knows that sound because He gave that sound a name personalizing your relationship with
him. And now that He hears you and recognizes you He also hears your earnest prayer. A prayer
made because you could do nothing about that which you are praying. You’re in a mess. You’re in a
desperate need. You’re at a train track and the train is coming. The car is stalled. The doors are
jammed. And now you make the sound of an earnest prayer. Heart felt prayer, a prayer that says
spiritually, mentally, physically or financially I am dead if the Lord doesn't hear and answer this
prayer now.
And my friend He can do that many ways. He can stop the train. Start the car. Unjam the doors. So
don't limit God's options. He heard your sound and earnest prayer now let Him do things His way and
at His time. Because we know if the Lord hears our prayer. Our prayer is granted.
The Psalmist goes on to say because He inclined His ear unto me, I will not only love Him but I will call
on Him as long as I live. Or He will always be my Lord, my love, my life and our relationship will always
be a love affair.
No matter what your problem may be. An attack of the enemy. Or you succumbing to temptation and
sinning before the Lord. Call on the Lord and say with the Psalmist because He heard me I love Him.
And His love for you will respond!
