Covenant Relationship

Moses is one of the most unselfish men spoken of in the bible. His prayers and his love always reached out to God for the
sake of Israel. This never changed in the last forty years of his life in leading the people of God to God. When writing the
book of Deuteronomy, he is still reaching out to the people with a reminder of the commandments and statutes of God that
they are to live by to ensure their covenant relationship with God as well as God's continued blessings upon them.
As he is preparing to die and he is sure he is because God told him he was, he writes this under the direction of God.

Deuteronomy 7:6-9
6 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto
himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
7 The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were
the fewest of all people:
8 But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the
LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king
of Egypt.
9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love
him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; KJV

Listen to some of the things he has to say for he is saying the heart of God. "You are chosen to be a special people unto
God, for himself, above all the people of the earth" God is blessing everyone, but you are special. “God chose you for no
other reason than he loves you and he promised Abraham and your forefathers that he would redeem you. You had nothing
at all to cause him to choose you, he just loves you. "Know therefore that the Lord thy God he is God. Not only do you need
to know that the God you serve is almighty God, you need to know He is the only true and faithful God. He is always going to
be there for you. He will keep his covenant with you. He will never lie to you or come up short on anything he says, His mercy
is enduring for ever. And he is faithful in his covenant and mercy to all who love him and keep his commandments to a
thousand generations.
I like the thousand generations promise here, that means His covenant and mercy is still good for you and I. His faithfulness
is still here today.

Listen to verses 15 and 24 of the same chapter.

Deuteronomy 7:15
15 And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest,
upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee. KJV

Deuteronomy 7:24
24 And he shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man
be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them. KJV

Blessed above all people! There shall be no barren among you! I will take all sickness from among you! I will put none of the
disease on you that you saw in Egypt nor any other disease for that matter! Others will receive them because they are not in
covenant with me. Let me say here that every body can be in covenant with God today through Jesus. And because of his
stripes, taken for our healing no disease can come and abide in our life for we are healed by the stripes of Jesus! Some folk
today like to focus on generational curses which cannot be.
For if God blessed to a thousand generations and those blessing cannot be reversed if we stay in covenant with God then it
does not make any difference who our parents were or what they did, the people who keep covenant with God and keep his
commandments are Blessed! God is faithful! Further more if you truly believe you are saved then you are clean by the blood
of Jesus Christ. And what is there from the stain of sin that can remain after the cleansing of the Blood of Jesus. For now you
are not only clean but sealed by the Holy Spirit of God. You have been purged from ALL sin. Plus all the promises of God of
the Old Testament  are contained in the New Testament of which the writer of Hebrews has this to say,

Hebrews 9:11-28
11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with
hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained
eternal redemption for us.
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the
flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your
conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the
transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of
goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly
things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself,
now to appear in the presence of God for us:
25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he
appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time
without sin unto salvation. KJV

Hebrews 8:6
6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was
established upon better promises. KJV
,

Hebrews 7:22
22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. KJV

We are still a special people who belong to God because he loves us. Let us love him and stay in covenant relationship.

1 Corinthians 2:9
9 But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the
heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate
reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed]. [Isa 64:4; 65:17.]   AMP
