Everybody’s Part
Romans 16:17-18
17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have
learned; and avoid them.
18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive
the hearts of the simple. KJV
Ephesians 4:3
3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. KJV
And every saint has a part in getting this done. We are all to walk in love in getting this done. We are to forgive one another,
quit stealing, work and earn a living not only for ourselves but also to help those in need. We are to forgive each other even
as Christ forgave us. And we are always to speak the truth in love. But sometimes more has to be done to keep the unity of
the spirit in the bond of peace so the power of God can constantly flow in our church gathering. And Romans 16:17-18 tells
us what that is.
It however must never be done in any fashion except in love and the agreement of the Holy Spirit and Jesus as Paul pointed
out in 1 Corinthians 5:1-5
1 Corinthians 5:1-5
1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the
Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.
2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among
you.
3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that
hath so done this deed,
4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus
Christ,
5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord
Jesus. KJV
Paul said to mark those who cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine you have learned and then avoid them.
This is a hard thing for any loving person to do. But it is not a cruel thing. It did not say to destroy their reputation or put
them in such condemnation that they could not repent and serve the one true living God.
The cruel thing would be to allow them to continue as they are going without any correction and allow them to keep
deceiving and taking advantage of the simple by their fair speeches. Taking advantage of these simple people’s hearts and
misleading them also.
So how do you mark them? Who ever is in charge of the assembly must confront them, allow them to know they have been
discovered and then put them out of the church without any hesitation.
Jesus laid down the ground rules for this in Matt.18:15-18 .
Matthew 18:15-18
15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear
thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word
may be established.
17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as
an heathen man and a publican.
18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on
earth shall be loosed in heaven. KJV
And yet though Jesus laid down the ground rules for doing this. So few of our churches will dare not even talk about it much
less do it. Thus they are left to make a fair show of religion having a form of Godliness denying the power there of through
disobedience of marking that person or persons. That is why homosexuals have free course in many mainline denominations
and the Holy Spirit none.
The abortionist are free to speak and mislead many but the Holy Spirit is shushed. He leaves on his own. When these kinds
of people are not marked and have free reign given them by church leadership.
To be sure the Holy Spirit will depart and there will be no anointing that moves burdens and destroys yokes. The choir may
be in harmony and the offering big but the anointing of Luke 4:18-19 will not be there to do the intended work.
Luke 4:18-19
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to
heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that
are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. KJV
Secondly avoid these people. I looked the word avoid up and it means to desert.
Have absolutely nothing to do with them. Paul said the same thing in 1 Corinthians 5:10-13.
1 Corinthians 5:10-13
10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must
ye needs go out of the world.
11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or
an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. KJV
Are these difficult things to do? Yes. But so is physics and algebra. But we make our children do them because if they are to
be successful they need them. It is the same with the church. Do these things in love because we are doing the truth. And if
the church does not do them they will not have the success of the church of acts ordained to be of Jesus Christ.
When we have marked them and put them out of the church and deserted them let us pray they come to there senses and
repent and turn back to Jesus.
