Friends

Proverbs 18:24
24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
KJV

The first line of this verse is totally important to our life here on earth. If you’re ever to have a friend you must first
show your self friendly or you must take the first step in acquiring friends. Some to whom you show your self friendly
to will just becoming passing acquaintances. Some you will see no more. Some will take advantage of your friendship
to their gain and your grief. We call these users. Some will just be accommodating and some will become a true and
lasting friend to you as you will to them. It is sometime a costly and painful process. None the less outside of a
divinely appointed friend this is the process taken to finding a friend and we know that the second portion of this
scripture is talking about Jesus for he is that friend that stays closer than a brother. As in knowing Jesus we know
that friendship portrays as well as forestays a relationship that began with a mere introduction and we also learn
from Jesus as stated in Proverbs 17:17 that a friend loveth at all times and not in the good times only and many will
be the times that this love will be your sustaining grace.

Proverbs 27:16 says that the wounds of a friend are faithful. Simply saying your friend may hurt your feelings but it is
done to save you from harms way that we may be blinded to for a moment. You may be angry at your friend before
understanding comes for the reason of the wound. But the friendship remains.

What makes a friend? The test of time tempered by unconditional love and your realities becoming relevant to who
they are. What are the duties of a friend? There is only one and in it is the fulfillment of friendship and that one duty
is being there for you.

What are the rights of a friend? The right to be there for you and do and say whatever your need demands
regardless of the wound.

What should a friend see in you? Everything that is and is not. Regardless of quality, purity, or integrity and it is in
what your friend sees that will cause them to be a needed friend and stick closer than a brother in the example of
Jesus Christ.

I have true friends and I can count them in the amount of less than ten. But they have always been there for me. I
trust I have been a friend to some as well. Friendship is not always easy but it is always.
In reality friendships are not made they are birthed through divine appointment thus we still go through the process
to find who was born for us.
