Grace And Peace
Part 1
2 Peter 1:2
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
KJV
This verse is not a suggestion nor does it imply something of an option to some things available to the saints of God if
desired. This is a statement of what every saint of God must have to be a saint of God. If you do not have these two things
there is no question as to if you are or are not a saint of God. You are not. Your destination is not heaven and you do not
have a heavenly Father and a heavenly family.
Grace and peace! Grace and peace are not indigent whims of thought spawned by human imagination dependant on the
minds of men. They are the doors of entrance into the kingdom of God. Doors opened by the faith of God and attended by
the mercy of God. Grace and peace are not man made luxuries. They are God given necessities for mans eternity with God.
GRACE!
Ephesians 2:8-10
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should
walk in them.
KJV
PEACE
Romans 5:1-2
1 THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified ( acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith,
let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus
Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
2 Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God's favor) in which we
[firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God.
AMP
Peter is talking to the church who already understands what grace and peace are. Now he is saying let that grace by which
you stand and that peace which is your reconciliation with God be multiplied. He is saying there is a way to let grace and
peace become an ever increasing flow in your life. An ever increasing amount of God's advantage for gain in this life and a
closer relationship with God to whom you have been reconciled. You have grace and peace now let it be multiplied. How?
You received grace and peace as you knew Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and were known of God.
Galatians 4:8-9
8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly
elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
KJV
Just as you were known of God in your entirety, come to know the grace and peace of God in multiplied measures through
the knowledge of God and Jesus your Lord. Knowing them brings you into the family of God. What you know of them brings
you into a learning relationship in the family of God. Learning how grace and peace works multiplies the benefits of grace
and peace to you. That growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus.
At least one part of the answer to a question often asks. “Why do they seem to have more of the grace of God and a closer
relationship with the Lord and with the Father than I do?” It is because they not only knew them as Father and Lord. They
took time to learn of them. Jesus gave the invitation to learn of him in;
Matthew 11:28-30
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
KJV
Have you tried out your yoke of learning yet?
Grace And Peace
Part 2
2 Peter 1:3-4
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of
him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine
nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
KJV
If multiplied grace and peace comes through the knowledge of Jesus we need also notice that the Father hath by his own
power given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the same knowledge of Jesus who has called us to his
own glory and excellence or glory and virtue. Hath given! Done been done. Then if it has already been given why are we
not living in these things that pertain to life and godliness and his glory and virtue in a greater degree than we are. Lack of
knowledge of Him!
Hosea 4:6
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou
shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
KJV
This has been quoted by many I think without understanding. Pershing for lack of knowledge is not the knowledge about
something as I have heard it explained many times. It is lack of knowledge of someone. Here knowledge means to know of
that person in intimate relationship. Just as a man or woman in marriage would know each other.
To have that kind of knowledge of Jesus will not only mean we love him but we also fear him, or reverence him.
The perfect person to tell us about this fear is Paul.
1 Corinthians 2:1-5
1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of
God.
2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of
power:
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
KJV
Especially verses 2-4 “For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ and him crucified. And I was
with you in weakness, and in fear and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing word's of
man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the spirit and power. Paul said Jesus totally first.
In that reverence the power of God was upon me till I was weak and trembling in nothing but the reverence of God.
I ceased to rely upon any of mans enticing words of what sounds good and then I began to demonstrate of the Spirit and his
power the things that pertain to life and godliness in the glory and excellence that Jesus called us to.
The reverence must be. As we begin to walk in the things that pertain to life and godliness in the glory and excellence of
Jesus. We become partakers of the divine nature of God from salvation to every other thing that pertains to life and
godliness. By doing so we escape the corruption that is in this world through lust. Which is the lust of the flesh, the lust of
the eyes, and the pride of life.
1 John 2:16
16 For all that is in the world — the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy
longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one's own resources or in the stability of earthly things] — these do
not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].
AMP
This all begins with the knowledge of Jesus at salvation by the divine nature given to us of God. But it does not end here it
continues to every part of life with the things that pertain to life and godliness and the glory and excellence of Jesus Christ.
