My Deliverer
Psalms 3:1-6
A Psalm of David, when he fled from Ab'sa-lom his son.
1LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about. KJV
Psalms 34:19
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. KJV
When you read Psalms 3 you have to know that David did not write Psalms 34:19 from hearing other people’s testimonies. He
wrote it out of his own life experiences. He had proved God over and over again by calling on God when he was in trouble and
over and over again God showed himself to be David’s deliverer. David did not fail to call on God and God never failed to
answer. He always showed himself strong on David's behalf. God is no respecter of persons, if he showed himself strong on
David's behalf so will he do for us. Unlike David who fought against army's of men or flesh and blood we wrestle not against flesh
and blood today as David did then. However God's answer to our call for help today will come just as surely as did his answer for
David’s call then!
It is guaranteed by Jesus Christ.
Matthew 7:7-8
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. KJV
Hebrews 7:22
22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. KJV
Let's look back at Psalms 3:1-6 and see principles, confessions and results of faith that work the same now as then.
David began his prayer by acknowledging the sovereign Lordship of Almighty God. That should be the first step of any saint's
call for help from God. Lord is defined here as “Self existent or Eternal Jehovah”. David is simply acknowledging that he is
calling on the 0ne who is from eternity to eternity and is totally established of and in himself. Totally dependant on himself and
totally self sufficient to do what needs to be done on his behalf.
So should we also acknowledge God as such.
Then David stated what the problem was as we should also do when we call on the Lord. And we should make clear our problem
if we want a clear answer or response. And David said Lord they said that you won't help me and I have thought about that Lord
and here is what I say. Here is my confession of faith in response to all the voices that mentally try to discourage me besides
everything else that is happening.
Psalms 3:3
3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head! KJV
Again he begins with Lord, and then says you are my protector, my defense and my ruler. Therefore will I submit to your
Lordship as my ruler and come safely under your protection as my defender! You therefore are my glory, none of me and all of
you. You are my glory, the splendor in which I enjoy so richly and mine honor to which every foe of mine must yield to as the
defeated. Their silent lifeless bodies crying out that you O God are Lord and you have lifted my head above my enemies. God's
grace worked for David in the midst of his weakness or when he had done all he could physically do. So will that same grace
work for you. David acknowledged the Lordship of the Mighty name of God and God sustained him and conquered for him. As
will the acknowledged name of Jesus do for you.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I
rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when
I am weak, then am I strong. KJV
Philippians 2:9-11
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. KJV
Same Lordship, same honor! You O Lord are the one which will raise me above all this trouble and cause me to walk as your
crowned king! Or blood washed child!
I cried to you, I know you heard me. So I went to sleep and to all mine enemies’ surprise I woke up the next morning because you
took care of me. I will not be afraid of them who are against me, no matter how many there are. You have defeated the enemy
and your salvation has become my blessing. And by you O Lord I have ran through their armies and went over their walls of
defense. Amen
Let the faith principles of this prayer work for you today and rest in the Lord
