My Life

2 Corinthians 5:15
15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves,
but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
KJV

Years ago there was a song that said it is my life I will throw it away if I want to. Much of the
world subscribes to that theology today. Yet here is a scripture that says that because Christ
died for us we are not to live our life unto our self but unto him that died for us and rose again.

What is it to live my life unto Christ? Does it rob me of freedom, joy, and benefits? Quit the
contrary. Living our life unto Christ gives us the freedom of the Son. A lifestyle of service by
choice with all power over the power of the devil. It certainly does not rob me of joy. It instead
gives me the joy of the Lord which constantly develops into the overcoming strength of God. It
is the joy unspeakable which shushes the powers of hell that would speak. It does not rob me
of benefits. It daily loads me with benefits. Benefits of the spirit, finance, mental stability,
physical, health and material. The list and the supply of benefits are endless. No, living our life
unto Christ does not rob or deprive us of but one thing. And that one thing is the deadliest
thing. It is of the deadliest nature. And has the deadliest results. That one thing is selfishness.
The very undoing of man in the Garden of Eden. The cause of the murder of Cain. David’s
stealing Bathsheba. And Judas betraying Christ. Selfishness is the deadliest disease known to
man. It will cause a person to sleep in on Sunday morning instead of going to church. It will
rob God of his tithes. Allow the hungry to starve. The homeless to remain so. The naked to
suffer the elements of nature. Selfishness will replace love with hatred, respect with disdain.
and esteeming thy brother with I, me, my, and mine. But most of all it will rob you of your place
in heaven for you will be too busy saying yes to yourself that you will not say yes to God. And
never will you sing, here my Lord I give my self away tis all that I can do. A fitting scripture to
help us live as unto God is Phil.2:1-8

Philippians 2:1-8
1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the
Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one
mind.
3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem
other better than themselves.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made
in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto
death, even the death of the cross.
KJV

Living our life unto Christ is not a life of fleshly perfection. But a penitent life and a crucified
life that ever cries forgive me as I forgive others and I am crucified with Christ yet I live, yet not
I but Christ liveth in me and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the son of
God who loved me and gave himself for me.
