My Portion
Psalm 16:5
5 The Lord is my chosen and assigned portion, my cup; You hold and maintain my lot.

When you read the psalms of David and see how he ever praised the Lord it leaves no question as to why God said David
was a man after his own heart. For the heart of God was ever what he sought in praise and thanks giving. David often called
on God for help but more often he sang out the praises of God and God ever inhabits the praises of his people. His presence
is sensed and revered in those praises. His nearness is obvious and there need be no alarm for He is our saving strength.
When David sang out Psalms 16:5 he said the Lord is my cup, or He is who contains, restrains and holds me together.
Paul said the same thing in Colossians 1:16-17
Colossians 1:16-17
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones,
or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

David said as I deal with the affairs of life as a king, a husband, a father, a warrior, a soldier, a liar, an adulterer, a murderer,
a king without his country, a sick and afflicted man, a man betrayed by friends and children, as a man that mourns his
children’s death and all the pressure of wars and ruling a nation. You O God are my cup! Is there any wonder why David said
my cup runneth over? You O God are my chosen and assigned portion, of all that could be chosen in life I choose you. You
are mine inheritance which is more than enough. You are not my future inheritance you are my inheritance now, of all that
you are, I possess, you are my God. You maintain my lot or destiny. Your patience is not one of just daily routine care, your
maintenance is one of constantly upgrading me making me well able at all times. You make me today what one day you will
make all men through Jesus Christ, more than a conquer and because you maintain me there is not a power that can detain
me. Your maintenance will sustain me and cause me to go forward.
Psalm 18:28-31
28 For You cause my lamp to be lighted and to shine; the Lord my God illumines my darkness.
29 For by You I can run through a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall.
30 As for God, His way is perfect! The word of the Lord is tested and tried; He is a shield to all those who take refuge and put
their trust in Him.
31 For who is God except the Lord? Or who is the Rock save our God,

Ps 16:8-9
8 I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad and my glory [my inner self] rejoices; my body too shall rest and confidently dwell in safety,

Ever lift your voice in praise and you will quickly notice the Lord is your chosen and assigned portion and your cup and you
will be maintained to be able to face and deal with what is before you, so what is before does not deal with you.
