Praying “Thy Will”
Concerning prayer I have heard people say "I hope God heard me” and often I tell them God didn't hear you for you
prayed a hope filled prayer and he hears a faith filled prayer. Or I have heard them say I don't think my prayer went any
further than the ceiling and the truth of the matter is it probably didn't make it that far because of the doubt in their
prayer.
God would have all men to pray.
Luke 18:1
18:1 ALSO [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose
heart, and give up).

Prayer in the name of Jesus can result in whatsoever you ask, being done.
John 16:23-24
23 And when that time comes, you will ask nothing of Me [you will need to ask Me no questions]. I assure you, most
solemnly I tell you, that My Father will grant you whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM]. [Ex 3:14.]
24 Up to this time you have not asked a [single] thing in My Name [as presenting all that I AM]; but now ask and keep on
asking and you will receive, so that your joy (gladness, delight) may be full and complete.

There is also a way to know that every prayer will be heard and answered.
1 John 5:14-15
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
KJV
You can be absolutely sure that God hears you and absolutely sure you will have what you prayed for! Just ask
according to his will. His will is His word. If it is written in His word you can have it. If it is not written in His word in letter or
principle forget it! Save your breath and the wonder of why you did not receive. You cannot pray according to your will. It
must be God's will. I can pray for healing and receive for it is His will to heal everyone. I can pray for finance and receive
because it is His will to bless and I have done His will in giving. I can pray for finance and not receive, not because it is
not His will to bless but because I did not do His will in giving. Often asking and receiving must have corresponding
actions because it is His will.
There is yet another reason prayers are not heard and answered. It is something many do not want to hear because to
hear it and obey it would demand a change on their behalf. And they are not willing to make that change.
Isaiah 59:1-2
59:1 Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will
not hear.
KJV
That reason is called sin. And that can hinder prayers heard and answers received. Because to willfully live in sin and
expect God to answer that prayer would be a prayer of presumption and not a prayer of faith. A prayer of faith is based
upon the will of God and a prayer while willfully living in sin other than the prayer of repentance is not the will of God. He
cannot hear it and it will not be answered. This kind of prayer is called holding the truth in all unrighteousness.
Romans 1:18-22
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the
truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are
made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their
imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
KJV
To have your prayer heard and answered you may need to repent and make a change in your life style. If so, then do it
for it is also God's will to forgive and restore. Whatever needs to be done, do so and have your prayer answered.
Ecclesiastes 12:13
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of
man.
KJV
This being the will of God done will place us in position for this will of God to be done unto us.
3 John 2
2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
KJV
