Reconciliation

Revelation 3:14-22
14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the
beginning of the creation of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched,
and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and
that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him,
and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his
throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

In chapters two and three of Revelation is a list of seven churches. Whether geographical locations or the different church ages is
not the emphases of the writing. The emphases of the writing to the churches is this. “You have done something to violate our
relationship and remove your self from the intimate relationship of the bride and groom. You have become apostate.
I am giving you something to do to overcome your apostate condition so you can come back to right relationship with me." Some of
the things done by the church was so serious as to cause their name to be blotted out of the book of life. It seems that no matter the
seriousness of the apostasies Jesus is always making a way for the church redeemed by his blood to come back to him. The “them”
of the writing to these seven churches is summarized in;

Revelation 3:19-22
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him,
and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his
throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

To every believer who has gone away from Jesus the lover of their soul. It is to all regardless of the route you took to go away or the
route that took you away. “I stand at the door of your heart today and wait for your invitation to come in. If you’re listening to my
voice that calls out to you as I stand here waiting and open the door for me back into your life I will come in. I will not only come in I
will come in and have a loving visit with you. You can talk openly and with out fear of condemnation to me and I will talk that way with
you. I already know why you went away and it was wrong but I also know the desires and intents of your heart and they were good.
However you failed to carry them out, for as much as you wanted to do them you just could not find the way. No matter the reason of
your going away I am here to help you back. That’s what I want to talk to you about. You know that as many as I love, I rebuke and
chasten. You know I love you but you misunderstood the rebuke and correction. Let me tell it to you again.

Hebrews 12:5-11
5 And have you [completely] forgotten the divine word of appeal and encouragement in which you are reasoned with and addressed
as sons? My son, do not think lightly or scorn to submit to the correction and discipline of the Lord, nor lose courage and give up
and faint when you are reproved or corrected by Him;
6 For the Lord corrects and disciplines everyone whom He loves, and He punishes, even scourges, every son whom He accepts
and welcomes to His heart and cherishes.
7 You must submit to and endure [correction] for discipline; God is dealing with you as with sons. For what son is there whom his
father does not [thus] train and correct and discipline?
8 Now if you are exempt from correction and left without discipline in which all [of God's children] share, then you are illegitimate
offspring and not true sons [at all]. [Prov 3:11,12.]
9 Moreover, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we yielded [to them] and respected [them for training us]. Shall we
not much more cheerfully submit to the Father of spirits and so [truly] live?
10 For [our earthly fathers] disciplined us for only a short period of time and chastised us as seemed proper and good to them; but
He disciplines us for our certain good, that we may become sharers in His own holiness.
11 For the time being no discipline brings joy, but seems grievous and painful; but afterwards it yields a peaceable fruit of
righteousness to those who have been trained by it [a harvest of fruit which consists in righteousness — in conformity to God's will
in purpose, thought, and action, resulting in right living and right standing with God].
