What Keeps The Wall Up
Proverbs 24:30-34
30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was
broken down.
32 Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
33 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
34 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.

There is in passing by and through life that we learn lessons from others. We call these lessons to live by. And in them
there is a gaining of wisdom, knowledge and understanding. The passer byes learned two things from this man. First he
was lazy and second, lazy men do not have understanding. When there is no desire for understanding there will be no
need for knowledge. For it will not be understood. And where there is no knowledge there will be no need for wisdom for
wisdom displaces understood knowledge. One thing for sure of this person, is his life and possessions were in disarray
and the full use of his ownership would never be recognized.
Proverbs 7:4
4 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

In other words make them part of your family. A part of your family as sure as a wife or child. Do not misuse or abuse
them but enjoy the full benefits of both. When they are not part of your family there is lacking, things needed and
necessary for life. And one thing for sure is you take care of family and you listen to them and your lifestyle becomes
one of cooperative effort. So if you have not invited them to be your relatives yet. Do so today.
Proverbs 13:15
15 Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.

Favor is defined as advantaged for gain. And I know of no one that does not need some gain in their life. Good
understanding comes by hearing what is said, giving it Godly thought in the light of the scripture. Making sure that you’
re aware of all the facts then wisely applying what you understand to what you know. Not to what you think you know.
Good understanding takes the time to discover the characteristics of the person as well as detail of the situation. Good
understanding does not come by hear say.
This scripture also says the way of the transgressor is hard. Or the person that transgressed the values of
understanding will have a very difficult time dealing with and getting through what they are facing.
So use the advantages of understanding.
Wisdom is the principle thing but with all thy getting get understanding. Get means just what it says. Get. So how do I get
understanding? First you ask the Lord for understanding. If he said get it then he will help you get it. Then observe life.
And when you don't understand what you observe then study it until you do understand.
There is a story of George Washington Carver and it is said he ask God to tell him how the universe worked. And the
Lord said no. Then he asked give me an understanding of how the earth works. And again the Lord said no. But then
the Lord said to him I will give you the understanding of a peanut. And he did and the values of a peanut from peanut
butter to medicinal components is a long list. What would you like to ask the Lord to give you an understanding of today
that would benefit the world?
I used to hear the older generation say I just don't understand this younger generation. But I have come to find out
there was not really a lack of understanding as much as there was a dislike of what was understood. Their fore wisdom
was not sought from God to make the necessary changes for the better for what was understood but not accepted.
