WHO DO YOU HANG OUT WITH
Proverbs 14:7
7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.
KJV
Who we hang out with can make a lot of difference of our life in terms of gain and loss.
Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:33 that evil communications corrupt good manners.
Or he could have said the wrong company will ruin and spoil the usage of moral habits until they
are completely wasted.
The Psalmist David said that we should not walk in the council of the ungodly.
What can they possibly offer to help us in the gain of a Godly life?
There are many other passages that deal with what company the saint ought to keep.
We are not talking about segregation we are talking about separation of light and darkness. For
darkness can bring nothing to light. However, if allowed it can extinguish the light. So let your light
shine in the darkness but do not become apart of the darkness. There is a passage of scripture
that gets even plainer and gives a specific reason why.
Our text "Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not knowledge in him” The
word foolish means stupid or silly. A stupid man will not follow the wisdom of the word of God and a
silly man has no moral or common sense. So Solomon said when you perceive that he is not only
foolish but there is no Godly knowledge coming from his lips, stay away from him. The absence of
Godly knowledge means loss and no gain.
Proverbs 24:4 says that by knowledge all the chambers of the righteous will be filled with pleasant
and precious riches. Knowledge means cunning or witty and riches means wealth or enough.
So this is it, don't hang with those that do not have the cunning and wittiness of God that will bring
wealth or enough of what ever you need to your home.
So you might want to stop and take a little bible advice and check out the crowd you hang with.
